The DT-100U adapter allows you to connect a standard RJ11 /RJ12 interface cash drawer to the USB port on your Windows-based POS terminal or PC.
It is suited for use where your cash drawer will not be connected in the conventional way via the RJ11 cash drawer kickout port on a receipt printer or touchscreen terminal.
No power supply is needed. The USB adapter is suitable for both 12v and 24v RJ11 / RJ12 interface cash drawers.
The DT-100U adapter connects to a USB port on your touchscreen terminal, tablet or PC and creates a virtual RS232 Serial port (eg. COM3, COM4 etc). You can check the port number assigned using Windows Device Manager, under the Ports section. Your POS software will need to be capable of supporting a RS232 Serial-interface cash drawer.
